The Great Northern Hotel is a beautifully restored Victorian gem, originally built in 1854 as one of London's first purpose-built railway hotels. Its distinctive curved facade wraps around the corner of King's Cross station, and a meticulous restoration has preserved original features — barrel-vaulted ceilings, ornate plasterwork and sweeping corridors — while adding contemporary comfort and style.
The GNR cocktail bar is a sophisticated spot for pre-dinner drinks, and Plum + Spilt Milk restaurant serves excellent modern British cuisine. Rooms range from cosy Singles to spacious Suites, all with luxurious bedding and rainfall showers. The location is exceptional for travellers: King's Cross and St Pancras International are literally next door, offering Eurostar services and Tube connections across London. The West End is about fifteen minutes by Tube.

The hotel is well soundproofed. You might hear some ambient noise from the station concourse, but rooms are generally very quiet. Request an upper-floor room if you're concerned.
