Christine Lahti is best known for her screen work, but here she stands alone on stage with material that could not be more personal. The play moves through several decades of one woman's life, beginning in 1950s suburban America, and Lahti shifts between characters and registers to build the portrait, with the tone swinging from sharp humour to grief and anger, often within the same scene. It is rooted in lived experience rather than fiction, and that directness is the point. The Marylebone Theatre is a compact auditorium where sound and movement carry easily, which works in the show's favour: you are close to the performance in a way larger houses cannot offer. Arrive in good time, as the 90-minute piece plays straight through with no interval, and latecomers are only admitted at a suitable break where possible. Evening performances run Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 7pm, with Saturday shows at 3pm and 7pm and a Sunday matinee at 3pm. The season is strictly limited, running from 10 July to 29 August 2026, so convenient dates will sell through first.
