About Hadestown
Hadestown is a genre-defying musical that intertwines two ancient Greek myths — that of Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and Persephone — to create a hauntingly beautiful story about love, doubt and the lengths we'll go to for the people we care about. Set in a Depression-era New Orleans-inspired underworld, the show blends folk, jazz, blues and indie rock into something entirely new.
Winner of eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Hadestown finally arrives in the West End at the Lyric Theatre. Anaïs Mitchell's extraordinary score and Rachel Chavkin's inventive staging create a theatrical experience that feels ancient and utterly contemporary at the same time. It's a show that will haunt you long after you leave.
