About The Savoy

The Savoy is one of London's most iconic hotels, a landmark of Art Deco and Edwardian splendour on the Strand overlooking the Thames. Since opening in 1889, it has hosted royalty, Hollywood legends and heads of state. The hotel sits directly in the heart of theatreland — the Savoy Theatre is literally built into the building, and the Lyceum, Adelphi and Vaudeville theatres are all within a two-minute walk.

Rooms blend classic elegance with modern comfort, and the hotel's dining options are exceptional: Gordon Ramsay's Savoy Grill serves refined British cuisine, while the legendary American Bar — one of the oldest cocktail bars in Europe — is the perfect spot for a pre-show drink. The Thames Foyer serves a celebrated afternoon tea beneath a stunning glass dome. If you want the ultimate West End experience, there's nowhere quite like The Savoy.

An unforgettable experience from start to finish. We had a river-view room and could see the London Eye lit up at night. Pre-show cocktails in the American Bar are an absolute must. Worth the splurge for a special occasion.

We stayed for our anniversary and saw Les Mis at the Sondheim — a five-minute stroll from the hotel. The Savoy Grill dinner was exceptional. Staff remembered our names by the second day. Pure class.

The location is simply unbeatable for theatre. We saw three shows in two days and walked to every single one. Breakfast in the Thames Foyer is magical. Yes, it's expensive, but you genuinely feel like royalty.
