About Tower of London Tickets with Crown Jewels Access
Tower of London Tickets with Crown Jewels Access
Book Tower of London tickets to explore nearly 1,000 years of royal history at one of Britain's most iconic landmarks. This UNESCO World Heritage Site on the banks of the River Thames has served as a royal palace, fortress, prison and treasury since William the Conqueror built the White Tower in 1078.
The Crown Jewels
The Crown Jewels are the centrepiece of any Tower of London visit. Housed in the Jewel House, the collection includes over 100 objects containing more than 23,000 gemstones. See the Imperial State Crown, worn by monarchs at the State Opening of Parliament, and St Edward's Crown, used for coronations since 1661. The collection includes the Cullinan I diamond, the largest clear-cut diamond in the world at 530 carats.
These are working crown jewels, still used in state ceremonies today. A moving walkway ensures all visitors can view the collection during busy periods.
The White Tower
The White Tower is the original Norman keep at the heart of the fortress, built by William the Conqueror in 1078. Inside, the Royal Armouries collection displays medieval weapons, suits of armour worn by Henry VIII, and the execution axe and block used for high-profile beheadings. The Chapel of St John the Evangelist on the upper floor is one of the finest examples of Norman church architecture in England.
Towers, Executions and Prisoners
Tower Green marks the site where seven people were executed by beheading, including two of Henry VIII's wives: Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. The Bloody Tower gained notoriety as the supposed location where the two young princes, Edward V and Richard of York, disappeared in 1483.
The Tower held famous prisoners including Sir Walter Raleigh, Guy Fawkes and Rudolf Hess. Interactive displays in the towers bring their stories to life.
Yeoman Warder Tours
Yeoman Warders, known as Beefeaters, have guarded the Tower since Tudor times. Their guided tours run throughout the day and are included with your ticket. Tours last approximately 60 minutes and cover the Tower's history of royal scandals, executions and escapes.
The Ravens
At least six ravens are kept at the Tower at all times. Legend states that if the ravens ever leave, the Tower and the kingdom will fall. The ravens are cared for by the Ravenmaster and can be seen around Tower Green.
