Tower Hill, London
The Tower Hotel enjoys one of London's most photographed positions, sitting directly on the Thames waterfront between Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The hotel's concrete Brutalist architecture divides opinion, but the views are universally acclaimed — Tower Bridge is so close you can almost touch it, and many rooms offer direct river panoramas.
The hotel's restaurant overlooks the Thames and St Katharine Docks, a picturesque marina filled with boats and lined with waterside restaurants. Rooms are comfortable and traditionally furnished, offering solid four-star accommodation at reasonable prices for the location. Tower Hill Tube is a short walk, connecting you to the West End in about fifteen minutes.

“The view of Tower Bridge from our room was stunning, especially lit up at night. The hotel itself is comfortable rather than luxurious, but at these prices with this view, it's excellent value.”

“Great location for sightseeing. Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and St Katharine Docks all on your doorstep. We walked along the river to the Globe Theatre one afternoon. Good solid hotel.”

“The location and views are the stars here. The room was clean but a little dated. Ask for a river-facing room — the difference in view is dramatic. Decent breakfast buffet.”
Request a river-facing room when booking. These are more expensive but the views of Tower Bridge and the Thames are spectacular, especially at night.
Absolutely. It's a lovely marina with waterside restaurants, bars and shops, just a two-minute walk from the hotel. Great for an evening stroll or dinner.
Walk to Tower Hill station (4 minutes) and take the District or Circle line westbound. Temple station is about 10 minutes for the Aldwych theatres; Embankment is 12 minutes for Charing Cross and Trafalgar Square.
The hotel was built in the 1970s and the architecture is Brutalist style. Rooms have been refurbished and are comfortable, though the style is traditional rather than contemporary.
