About London Eye
The London Eye is the UK's most iconic modern landmark and one of the most visited attractions in the world. Standing 135 metres tall on the South Bank of the Thames, this giant observation wheel offers breathtaking 360-degree views across the capital — on a clear day, you can see up to 40 kilometres in every direction, as far as Windsor Castle.
Each rotation takes approximately 30 minutes in one of 32 sealed, climate-controlled capsules that can hold up to 25 guests. As you slowly rise above the city, you'll spot Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St Paul's Cathedral, The Shard and countless other landmarks. It's magical at any time of day, but sunset and evening rides — when London lights up below you — are truly unforgettable.

Frequently asked questions
How long is the ride?
One full rotation takes approximately 30 minutes. The wheel does not stop for boarding — you step on and off as it slowly moves.
Is it scary for people afraid of heights?
The capsules are fully enclosed with solid walls up to waist height and glass above. The movement is very slow and gentle. Most people with mild height anxiety are fine.
Can I skip the queue?
Yes — Fast Track tickets let you skip the main queue and board more quickly. During busy periods, this can save 30-60 minutes of waiting.
What happens in bad weather?
The London Eye operates in most weather conditions including rain. It only closes in very high winds. Capsules are climate-controlled so you'll stay dry and comfortable.
When is the best time to visit?
Weekday mornings are quietest. For the best photos, visit around sunset. Evening rides offer spectacular views of London illuminated.
