About The Milestone Hotel

The Milestone Hotel is a jewel of boutique luxury, sitting directly opposite Kensington Palace and Gardens in one of London's most beautiful settings. This ornate Victorian townhouse has been transformed into a hotel of extraordinary character, with each of the 62 rooms individually designed — from the Safari Suite to the Venetian Room — creating spaces that feel more like private apartments than hotel rooms.

The personal butler service is a hallmark: guests are assigned a dedicated butler who handles everything from unpacking to drawing baths and arranging theatre tickets. Cheneston's restaurant serves refined British cuisine, and the cosy panelled bar is perfect for a quiet nightcap. The Kensington location means the V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum are a five-minute walk, while the West End is easily accessible via the District or Piccadilly lines.

The butler service is extraordinary — we felt like royalty. Our room overlooked Kensington Palace and was beautifully decorated. The afternoon tea was intimate and delicious. A truly special hotel.

Every room tells a story here. Ours was the Ascot room with horse racing memorabilia — charming and fun. The bar is wonderfully cosy. We walked through Kensington Gardens to the Serpentine every morning.

The most personal hotel experience I've had. The butler knew our names, our preferences, everything. Cheneston's dinner was excellent. The location opposite the palace gardens is magical.

Frequently asked questions

How does the butler service work?

Each guest is assigned a personal butler who assists with unpacking, pressing clothes, drawing baths, making reservations and any other request. It's included in the room rate and is a genuine highlight.

Is the hotel suitable for children?

Yes, the hotel is family-friendly and can arrange children's amenities, special menus and connecting rooms. The proximity to the museums makes it an excellent family base.

How far is it to the theatres?

Take the District line from High Street Kensington to Embankment (about 15 minutes) or the Piccadilly line from Gloucester Road to Piccadilly Circus (about 18 minutes). Both routes are straightforward.

Can the hotel arrange theatre tickets?

Absolutely — the concierge and butlers are excellent at sourcing theatre tickets. Let them know what you'd like to see and they'll handle the rest.
